Project Overview
We need an experienced WordPress/WooCommerce developer to fix a compatibility issue between our variation swatches plugin and product gallery functionality. The issue specifically involves the interaction between two sets of plugins from the same company:
Gallery Plugins:
Additional Variation Images Gallery for WooCommerce (Free version)
Additional Variation Images Gallery for WooCommerce (Pro version)
Color Swatches Plugins:
Variation Swatches for WooCommerce (Free version)
Variation Swatches for WooCommerce (Pro version)
Current Issues
Gallery Click Functionality Not Working: When a user clicks on a thumbnail in the product gallery slider, it should update the main product image. This functionality is currently broken.
Default Gallery Display: When no color variation is selected, all product variation images should be visible in the gallery slider, but this isn't working properly.
What's Working
The color swatches functionality itself works correctly (users can select variations)
When a color swatch is selected, the gallery updates to show images specific to that variation
Required Skills
Advanced WordPress/WooCommerce development experience
Strong JavaScript knowledge (particularly jQuery)
Experience debugging plugin conflicts
Familiarity with WooCommerce hooks and filters
Previous experience with variation/attribute plugins is highly preferred
Deliverables
Fix the gallery click functionality so clicking thumbnails properly updates the main product image
Ensure all variation images display in the gallery when no color swatch is selected
Maintain compatibility between the variation swatches and gallery plugins
Provide documentation of changes made and any code modifications
