My two WordPress sites (multisite installation on GoDaddy) currently have the white screen of death: fatal error. I need someone to bring them back. The error message lists errors in 9 files stemming from Call to undefined function wp_kses(). See the errors at ericstoltz.com. While I set up the WP multisite and adapted both sites with custom templates, this fix is beyond me.
Would like someone available in Pacific Time.
Here's what happened:
!. Noticed sites on WP multisite failing to load or loading very slowly over several minutes
2. Contacted GoDaddy support. They first tried to say it was browser issue then ISP issue. It was of course neither because all other sites loading fine and my sites fail across all browsers. Finally she said it could be malware (tried to sell me a monthly subscription).
3. I went to WP admin to install a malware scanner plugin. The Jetpack version said I had to upgrade PHP from 7.3.33. So I went to GoDaddy admin to check PHP version. It was 8.2. Hmmm.
4. Contacted GoDaddy support again to help with PHP upgrade. He discovered the htaccess file specified PHP 7.3 only. Have no idea why. Took that out.
5. Now I cannot access site or WP admin. Get a fatal error, call to undefined function wp-kses() causing 9 errors.
6. Manually updated WP, replacing all files except wp-content folder.
7. Still get fatal error.
